Today I meandered over to a cool structure of the local Susquehanna Bank. It was a completely cloudy day.
Above is the structure I had to work with. It's actually pretty cool though I wasn't able to capture a lot of that coolness. The reflections in the glass was cool and I tried to work with that, but I just wasn't getting it right. I've included some of the better duds below. My "autofocus" wasn't focusing so when I got home, I had to figure that out, and did.
I was aiming for unique angles with this structure. The flag pole bent nicely in the reflection and I tried to wait long enough for the flag to unfurl but I was impatient. It's a bland picture, but it did have some potential.
Here are two others worth mentioning:
In the first, it's a reflection of the flag with the other side of the building shining through.
This is reflection of the distorted flag pole and the flag.
Not sure what was wrong here.
I was reading some fascinating Travel photography blogs earlier this morning. While I'd like to delve into that, going overseas right now is just not an option, and making a living doing it is merely a pipe dream. Possible, but certainly not until I cam correct some of the basic things like aperture, shutter speed, white balance, ISO and composition.
The basics. Back to the basics of a great photo.
The last one was a pretty good image, not great but good. Lacks a clear subject except that's a reflection of the outside trees.
